Vehicle Theft Reported from Sober Living Home As stated in a police statement, a another female, Nicolle Walters, forty-five years old, reported that her 2004 gray Toyota Sienna was stolen, along with her vehicle key. The owner, who operates two women’s sober living homes, named the suspect as one of the residents at Diana’s House Sober Living, situated approximately 60 minutes north-west of LA. “My keys were stolen from my manager’s handbag. I happened to pull up just as it was occurring,” she said, noting that the vehicle is used for the sobriety home’s tasks. Dramatic Chase Develops Across Multiple Counties Officials tracked the van about 19 kilometers north in Simi Valley, where they tried to pull the vehicle over, but the suspect did not comply and sped away. She reached speeds of about 145km/h on the 118 freeway until the pursuit continued into Los Angeles county. At that juncture, local sheriff’s deputies transferred the operation to the California highway patrol once Wilson merged onto the 405 freeway traveling southbound. “This incident is particularly unusual in the sense of the road situation enabling individuals to persist on the highway and extend this pursuit,” commented a spokesperson from the local law enforcement agency. The suspect allegedly avoided all the tire-deflation devices deployed on the road by police, as documented in aerial videos. Cross-Border Escape and Aftermath The chase finally arrived at the US-Mexico border by early afternoon, leading to the CHP to terminate the chase due to jurisdictional constraints. Walters stated on Tuesday that the vehicle was located in Tijuana, Mexico and that she was coordinating with the authorities to recover the vehicle. “Ultimately, I’m not concerned with the car,” she remarked. “I’m more at ease knowing she was not injured.
